EVENT: Blackmore's 80 Deeds Charity Campaign

Earlier this month I attended a charity event organized by Blackmores in conjunction with their 80th anniversary at the Shelter Home for Children (Shelter) in Petaling Jaya. It was such a lovely day although it rained in the morning for a bit but that didn’t dampen the spirit of Blackmores staff & the children from Shelter & the elderly who enjoyed themselves ♥ 

A total of RM80,000 worth of Blackmores supplements were pledged to 25 old folks homes and underprivileged children homes in the Klang Valley & Selangor in conjunction with Blackmores’ 80th Anniversary. The announcement came at the 80th Anniversary tea-party celebration with Blackmores employees which was attended by 20 children from Shelter as well as 18 senior citizens from Rumah Charis with their caregivers..

Can't believe they have already been around for so looong, personally I do take Blackmores supplement as a daily intake (multivits, Evening Primrose Oil, Fish Oil etc). I believe in addition of eating a healthy diet as it's our personal responsibility to our body to take in supplements because we cannot guarantee that our everyday food contains enough nutrition and Blackmores is one of the best brands out there for supplements. The event took place at the Shelter Home for children in Petaling Jaya and was joined with the elderlies of Rumah Charis. Look how happy they are in this photo! It's not every day that these kids & the elderly are celebrated and I can definitely see the joy in their eyes & face throughout the event. Mr. Eddy Ong, Country Manager Blackmores Malaysia & staff officially kick-off Blackmores 80 Deeds Campaign 2012 in conjunction with Blackmores 80th Anniversary Celebration. 

“Blackmores’ 80th year is a significant one, and the launch of the Blackmores 80 Deeds Campaign 2012 is in perfect expression of the corporate vision for a healthier and happier world. In keeping with that, the campaign encourages all Malaysians to extend a kind deed to another Malaysian, be it a family member, colleague or even a ‘frenemy’, without expecting any form of compensation. Participating citizens are then required to post their deeds via their social media platform of choice to be in the running for the best 8 deeds award by Blackmores,” explained Mr Eddy.

The children tried their best to win first place with the help of Blackmore's staff as their partner on the dancing stage. But ofcourse by the end of the day, all the children are winners and received goodies ♥

As a token of appreciation for their support, goodie bags were presented to the elderly, the children and their caregivers by Blackmores staff as the celebration came to a close. Happy faces all around thanks to Blackmores ♥

The celebration was also highlighted with a performance by Fern Eu, an 18 year old student singing songs from yesteryear such as “Fly me to the Moon” and “Moon River” among others, as well as a surprise piece by Mr Cheok Hoong Poh and the children from SHELTER with their rendition of Michael Jackson’s “We are the World.” In addition, both children and adults were entertained with a magic show by Edward the Magician from Atrix Entertainment and several rounds of games where exciting prizes were won.

The Blackmores 80 Deeds Campaign 2012 is now open to all Malaysians from 4th November 2012 and will end on 4th December 2012. The Grand Prize winner will receive a 2D/1N stay at Avillion Port Dickson and a Blackmores hamper worth RM800, while the 2nd to 8th prize winner will each receive a Blackmores hamper worth RM800.
