H&M in KL & Fall 2012 Lookbook

I'm pretty sure you've heard that H&M will be opening up soon in KL right? Well if you haven't, you've read it first here. 

H&M is proud to announce the opening of its first store in Kuala Lumpur this Fall in shopping mall Lot 10, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. Founded in 1947, H&M is a leading global fashion company brand offering fashion and quality at the best price. The brand offers a varied assortment for the entire family, including concepts for ladies, men, teenagers and children. With over 2,500 stores in more than 40 markets, H&M recent expansion in South East Asia started with a flagship store in Singapore which opened last year. H&M is also a pioneer of design collaborations with style icons such as Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, Roberto Cavalli, Comme des Garçons, Sonia Rykiel, Lanvin and most recently Marni all of which were instant hits with fashionistas worldwide.

FASHION: Sports Luxe Trend

It is officially May—more than six months since the spring 2012 runway shows have wrapped—so it’s probably a safe assumption that by now, the words “digital print”, “pastels”, and “athleticism” have been permanently etched into your brain. Over the last few months, we’ve seen countless editorials featuring models in sweet, macaron-inspired shades of rosewater and crème de pistachio, posing against lavender-washed skies; streetstyle photography of explosive print after explosive print all piled together have surely reached a new high. But what to make of this “new athleticism” trend? For one, the mere mention of “sport” and “fashion” immediately conjures up an unpleasant image of mesh sport jerseys-cum-dresses (yes, those), and how can you really tell when the look makes the trip from sport-infused fashion to—well—just a trip to the gym?

WIWT: Casual in Red

On a casual day out last week, well actually a family day whereby me & Naz brought his parents & our lil niece to visit Naz's grandma. My go-to casual outfit has almost always been stripes whenever I can, for me stripes always has that casual but dressy feel to it ♥

Paired it with this fun neon orange leopard print scarf I got from Rumah Mode, Bandung. Previously worn during the HIJABISTA mag launch in form of turban.

EVENT: Nike Cortez 40th Anniversary

Last week on 17th May 2012 over 150 guests comprising of celebrities, style influencers and pop culture swarmed the Nike "Cortez 40/40 KL" celebration in Bangsar Baru in honour of the Cortez's 40th anniversary. Held at ultra swanky street-style haven, JUICE KL in popular suburb Bangsar, the "Cortez 40/40 KL" celebration was a feast for the city's hot, urban set as we commemorated the birth of the Nike Cortez at this exclusive event.

BIRTHDAY: Chanel Kitty Surprise Party

So last week on Teacher's Day a.k.a 16th May was Kish's birthday, Niza had secretly planned to surprise her with a celebration dinner with all us girls. Me & Yani came out with Chanel Cats theme, as in black & white attire with hints of pearls, tweeds and anything Chanel-esque + kitty ears headband; mainly because we all know those two are what Kisho is most crazy about XD

Quirk to the Kwerkee

If you previously have read about my entry on REEBONZ a long time ago, you might wanna stay and read more about what I'm gonna tell ya. REEBONZ has teamed up and created a new site, same concept (member's only discount site) but instead of luxury bags & shoes they bring you more of a home & lifestyle products. A super grainy iPhone shot of me in the car last Tuesday morning on the way to the hospital for my bone marrow aspiration procedure (extraction of bone marrow from the hip bone on the back of my waist using a needle I suppose). It's usually a painless procedure because I'm given pain killer before I'm put under. So basically I'm unconscious during the whole thing. Have done this probably 5-6 times before and alhamdulillah I wake up from all of it without pain, just a lil groggy. Blessed with capable doctors and nurses and God's willing to grace me with ease. Alhamdulillah...

After that I went straight to Old Blossom Box for a video shoot with TV3's Buletin Utama. We thought the whole concept was to feature The Scarflet girls but only a few of us can make it due to working hours, so it turned into a feature of modern muslimah styling, with Old Blossom Box's wardrobe. Was thrown into a position of model, along with Nurul. Nurul was a pro! I was probably super awkward most of the times -_-"

But, just like Yuna I am in love with clashing prints and vibrant colors, as evidential from my past outfits. And very much mutual love for leopard prints as well. Not my first time wearing a pink fuschia lips either + surely not my first time sporting a turban style. But ofcourse, since I have such similar taste with the awesome songbird, her style is indeed an inspiration to me.When do I get to hang out with you again girl?! Anyways I wore this colorful outfit to a date with reps from HijUP.com who came all the way from Indonesia just to have breakfast with us and also for Hijabista Magazine soft launch in PWTC.

At NAZA AUTOMALL Petaling Jaya.

Was invited to join the event and was told to wear red, blue & white in respect to the colors of Captain America. I already had this in mind once I received the invitation. Wore my brand new Levi's denim chambray that I bought using the RM450 voucher I won through their Levi's x Tongue in Chic competition. Layered on a sleeveless thrifted blazer, have had this blazer for ages but didn't know what to wear it with. Now that I've tried it on, I have a million and one ideas on how to style it.

You might not know this about me but I am such a foodie, I loooooooooove food! And a few months recently I have take up cooking, another hobby that I find satiates the desire of the domestic goddess I should be since I'm no longer a working class lady. Here are some of the foods I've cooked up recently;

I really enjoy cooking for the fact that I can control how much nutrients (basically I just pile on all the veggies I  can) and avoid MSG or chemical products as much as possible (oh well I try). Usually my cooking is pretty simple & basic, I make sure I will have a good amount of protein & carb in one dish for a balanced meal. I also cook using olive oil, even our Prophet S.A.W takes in olive oil in his daily diet:

EVENT: ZALORA Bloggers Tea Party

So sometime around mid April I was invited by ZALORA to join their exclusive Bloggers Tea Party where they will style us up in ZALORA items, doll us up in make-up and have a lil fun photoshoot. Afterwards ofcourse what would a tea party be without macaroons & cupcakes right? We even had rainbow cake! Ahh no use of talking, take a look at these photos! :)
